Preeti’s November Update (Final Update!)

Marriage

On November 9th, Josh and I got married! While this is not directly ministry, it was a huge life moment that I know you guys have been praying for. So, thank you for your prayers and love – and a special thank you to those who attended! Josh and I are settling in well to being married and learning what it looks like to serve and glorify Jesus together. Thank you for praying for our stresses and anxieties in the leadup to our wedding – please continue to pray for our marriage!

Finishing up at Parramatta

This has been my last few months of being a trainee at St. John’s Parramatta! If I were to sum up my time as an MTS-er I would use the word ‘stretching’. Now, stretching has not been easy, nor fun all the time, but it has been good and something I am very thankful for. Over the last two years, I’ve been stretched in the way I think about myself and others, and especially as I consider what it looks like to be a lifelong disciple of Jesus. MTS has stretched me in my character, convictions and competency, and my prayer is that these two years will enable to be a helpful member of the body of Christ until he returns. Thank you guys for supporting me as I am stretched for Jesus!
Finishing up has brought much grief and excitement. I’m very sad to have to say goodbye to the kids church teams, to the other trainees and student ministers, to the staff team, to my congregation. But I’m also excited to be sent out, because there are people everywhere who need to hear the gospel!

College

I’m also finishing college! After 3 years of studying, I’ll be finishing up with my associate’s degree in ministry. As you’ve read my prayer letters over the last two years, I’m sure you know I love college – if you’d like to hear my highlights from college this semester, feel free to ask me! Instead, I thought it would be helpful to tell you how God has grown me through college and why I think it’s worth going. College has equipped me with fellowship with ministry workers, a greater understanding of why kids and youth are essential in our churches, love for God and his word, growth in my critical reflection, and humility, patience and grace.

What the rest of this year until we start up looks like:
Josh will be the family’s minister at Minto Anglican Church next year! This is a full-time role, which will start on the 26th of January. We’ve decided that I will support Josh in that role, and serve in a lay capacity for at least 2025. We’re very excited to be able to church together and are praying that God would use us greatly for his kingdom! I’m especially excited to be back in South-West Sydney and pray that the things God has taught me in my training will help me to support Josh and serve others.
Until we start up, Josh and I will have a month off to rest. We’re unsure what we’ll do with that time yet but are looking forward to some time to ourselves to prepare for a big church and life change (as well as move houses!).
